Did you know that Patti Flaherty is the President of the Board of the British Columbia Brain Injury Association (BCBIA) and is a founding member of the Interdependence Network (IN)?

Being involved with these organizations gives Patti and CONNECT the opportunity to connect with other people in the brain injury and disabilities field, learn from other organization to help strengthen the work we do at CONNECT and also offers opportunities to share the successes and experiences of CONNECT’s  Life Redesign Model.

BCBIA is an organization dedicated to strengthening the service and support network here in BC to improve the lives of people living with acquired brain injury. BCBIA works to raise awareness about brain injury in BC and to ensure that people have access to information about brain injury and related resources. The Interdependence Network is made up of a number of disability-based human service organizations in Canada, the U.S. and Australia. The network’s focus is to help shift traditional service models toward the Interdependent model that builds and fosters social capital and social inclusion within the community to enable people with disabilities to be full members of society. Go to www.buildingsocialcapital.org to learn more about the network and the good work it is doing internationally.
