Leader – CONNECT Hamilton – Interim Position

We’re looking for just the right person to join our team as Leader, CONNECT Hamilton to oversee culture, our people and service delivery. You will be responsible for resident services and delivering the CONNECT promise – Making Lives Better. You will lead the Coaching Resource team of professional and support staff working to help individuals find A Better Way after Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and stroke. You will serve as community connector in liaising with service providers, funders, residents and their families and licensing bodies in Ontario.

You will report directly to our Director of Culture, People and Services. A key aspect of the job is mirroring CONNECT’s services by working with your counterparts in Lake Country and Langley, BC. As a member of CONNECT’s Leadership team, you will help focus on setting strategy and direction for the company.

What the role looks like:

Lead and support the delivery of CONNECT’s Life Redesign ModelTM:

  • A culture of personal accountability, supported risk taking, social capital and meaningful community participation;
  • Services planned around what the person wants more of in life. Participation in relevant life situations drives the residents’ goals;
  • Service plans leverage neuroplasticity by pursuing resident goals in real-life, non-institutional settings;
  • A “doing-with” coaching approach with blended job roles and a multi-professional coaching team.

You will ensure services are delivered in keeping with the philosophy and culture of CONNECT. You will support the team delivering those services while keeping an eye on quality and best practices. You will guide the development of integrated services, ensuring a culture of collaboration and partnership exists between individual residents and their coaching resource team. You will work together with others to meet the goals of the individual, the shared goals of the team and CONNECT’s development in Hamilton as a learning destination and resource for those living or working with ABI and stroke.

You will oversee culture and services for 42 residents in our condo-style, seven-home building in Hamilton, supported by on-site service resource, people resource, decision support and admin coaches. Support is also provided by a global leadership team based in Hamilton, Vancouver and Lake Country, including operations, finance, communication and IT.
